About

Why?

The Imperfect Clinician podcast is hosted by two clinicians working in different sectors. Both of us have more than 10 years on the front line, working cross sector and collaboratively whilst observing and experiencing first hand interactions with patients, leading teams, teaching and mentoring students or trainees.

'Why not do a clinical podcast?' Some of you have asked. Two reasons why we didn't want it. First of all, the clinical area/sphere is already saturated with professional podcasts and other sources of knowledge lead by best academic staff and experienced organisations with greatest clinical resources and skills. Second of all, we want to shift our lens and change our perspective to be more personal and emotional. We noticed similarities in our challenges, interactions with ourselves and others. We decided to take a leap and delve deep into us, gave ourselves the biggest gift of compassion and courage, courage to embrace our imperfections and compassion to ourselves when we are having open, honest and raw conversations.

Just a small disclaimer... Both of us are regular professionals. Just like majority of you. We have the similar struggles, and most likely, we ask the same questions as you! We are not experts in psychology or psychotherapy which helps us break down problems in a more digestible way. The way anyone can relate to.

It is a journey and we are just getting started. We won't always get it right all the time. We will fall down and stand up again and again and we definitely (try our best) to learn from our mistakes. We are braving through our journey as clinicians and human beings with our hearts wide open: open for tough feedback, open for difficult conversations, open for growth. We will be sharing past and present experiences, making it a safe space for all the imperfectionists out there.

Join us so we can relate, reflect and rise. Together.
